Genuinely Loving God

Posted by Lester Joash on November 18, 2011 @ 5:37 PM

Have you ever just loved God? I'm talking about loving Him just because He's God. It's a tough concept to grasp because a lot of what is preached today is about why you should love God. But really stop and think about why exactly you love God. Is it bacause of the things He's given you? Is it because you have to to make it into Heaven? Or does your love for the LORD Almighty come from genuinely loving Him because he quite simply is God? When you really take a minute to digest it all, and realize who God is, and how He's so deserving of our love, the thought alone is humbling.

An even crazier thing is this: God does not need our love, nor should He have to fight so hard for it. But He does! An eternal God is so passionatey in love with His creation that He chooses to love us who don't know how to love Him back in the same manner. Sure we can love Him because He saved us, sure we can love Him because He provides for us, sure we can Love Him because it's a what "good" Christians are "supposed" to do. But I raise to you the question that God asked me tonight: Could you love Him just because He's God?

So true Lester...It amazes me that God is so massive. He's the one who made the universe that is as far as us humans know - we have no idea the limits of this universe. Yet God loves each and every one on this earth that He will go to the far reaches of the universe just for one. Now how passionate is that?

In Crazy Faith Praise

Posted by Lester Joash on November 17, 2011 @ 8:45 AM

If there's anything that I'm completely convinced of in this world it's this: God's got my back. I can honestly say that this past month has been a month of trials and tests. Circumstances have seemed to get worse and worse, but in reality, that just means that the blessings that are coming my way are just getting bigger and bigger. I have been in constant prayer over a lot of things and there's a verse just that resounds loudly in my spirit:

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'"                        -Jeremiah 29:11

Now, I don't know about you, but I take the Lord at His Word. I know the Father loves me, and I know He wants the best for me. Knowing this, how can I not give Him praise? Most people would think that us Christians are crazy when we smile, and are joyful when tests and trials come our way. So here's a challenge for anyone who may happen to come across reading this: When things don't seem to be going right in your life, will you take God at His Word that He will take care of you, and give Him Crazy Faith Praise?
